When we present our members as slaves of uncleanness and lawlessness, we will bear fruit that we are ashamed of, but when we present our members as slaves of righteousness, we will bear good fruit.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, I could confess to you, that I am ashamed of the things that I have done when sin had dominion over me, when I presented my members as slaves of uncleanness and lawlessness, for when I was in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by sin were at work in my members to bear fruit of death, but thanks be to God, now having being set free from sin, and having become a slave of God, I now bear good fruit, fruit of holiness and to the end everlasting life, for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life. My brothers and sisters in Christ, I encourage you this morning, to put to death your members which are causing you to bear shameful fruits, to present your members as slaves of God and no longer slaves of uncleanness and lawlessness so that you will bear fruit that you could be proud of. Praise the Lord!
Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body that you should obey its lusts. Roman 6:12
My brothers and sisters in Christ, sin is crouching at your door and mine; it desires to have us, but we must rule over it. We must consider ourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus; and, do not present our members as instruments of unrighteousness, but present ourselves to God as being alive from the dead and our members as instruments of righteousness. Scripture warns us, that, we are now aware of this, that to whom we present ourselves to obey, we become that one’s slave, whether sin leading to death or obedience leading to righteousness. But thanks be to God, that though we were slaves of sin, yet, we obeyed from the heart, that form of doctrine to which we were delivered, and having being set free from sin, we became slaves of righteousness. Praise the Lord; praise the Lord, sin shall not have dominion over us, for we are under God’s grace. Oh, glory be to God this morning!
