The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him. Nahum 1:7

Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men! You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. Psalm 31:19-20

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Psalm 34:8

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with goodness. Psalm 107:8,9

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Psalm 27:13

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. James 1:17

The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works. Psalm 145:9

And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

When I think of the goodness of God, my heart is overwhelmed.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, we serve a good God, a god who does so many good things for us, blessings that we don’t deserve but what He knows is good for us. But how do we thank Him? Lord, continually give us grateful, thankful, overwhelming hearts, that will overflow so much, that we have to tell someone else of your goodness. When I think of the goodness of God, my heart is overwhelmed. Lord, continually lead me to the Rock that is higher and greater than I.

Lord, give me a heart that knows no ill, give me the grace to do Thy will, pardon and cleanse this old soul of mine, Lord, give me a heart like Thine. (Grace Thrillers)

“Only one joy a few brief years, only a dream and a valley of fears, vain is this world that I now resign, Lord, give me a heart like Thine. Come, to my soul precious Jesus, hear me, O Savior Divine, open the fountain and cleanse me within, Lord, give me a heart like Thine.”

“Lord, teach us how to pray aright, with reverence and with fear, for we perish, if we cease from prayer. Oh, grant us the power to pray, Lord, give us deep humility. The sense of godly sorrow, gives faith, in the only sacrifice, that can be for sin atone. Give these, and then Your will be done.” Amen!

Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom, you know our necessities before we ask and our ignorance in asking. Have compassion on our weaknesses, and mercifully give us those things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness, we cannot ask, through the worthiness of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Search me out, O God, and know my heart, try me, and know my restless thoughts. Look well whether there be any wickedness in me and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139

“Lord, you have searched me out and known me, you know my sitting down and my rising up, you discern my thoughts afar off. You trace my journeys and my resting places and are acquainted with all my ways. Indeed, there is not a word on my lips that you do not know. Where can I go from your Spirit, where can I flee from your presence? If I climb up to heaven you are there, if I make my bed in the grave, you are there also. So, search me out, O God, and know my restless thoughts, see if there is any wickedness in me, and lead me in your way forever.”

Discretion will watch over you, and understanding will guard you. Proverbs 2:11

“Whoever listens to Me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you rest, your sleep will be sweet. You will lie down without fear, and many will court your favor.”

Thy word, is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. I have taken an oath and confirmed it that I will follow your righteous laws. Psalm 119

“For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, their corrective discipline is the way to life. When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you.” Thank you, Lord!
