Thank you, Lord, that because of Your Son Jesus, we are now joint heirs with You.

When the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, in order to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as children. And because you are children, God sent the Spirit his Son into our hearts, crying, ‘Abba! Father!’ So, you are no longer a salve, but a child, and if a child, then also an heir, through God. Galatians 4:4-7

“Eternal Father, you gave you incarnate Son the holy name of Jesus, to be the sign of our salvation. Plant in every heart, we pray, the love of Him who is the Savior of the world, our Lord, Jesus Christ.”

“Love came down at Christmas, love all lovely, love divine, love was born at Christmas, star and angles gave the sign. Worship we the God-head, love incarnate, love divine, worship we our Jesus, he is our sacred sign. Love shall be our token, love be yours and love be mine, love to God and neighbor, love for plea, and gift and sign.”

“O come let us adore him, O come let us adore him, O come let us adore him, Christ the Lord!”

“O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant, O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem; come and behold Him, born the King of Angels; O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord!”

“From heaven above to earth I come, to bring good news to everyone! Glad tidings of great joy I bring, to all the world and gladly sing.” Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest!

“To you this night is born a child of Mary, chosen virgin mild, this new-born child of lovely birth shall be the joy of all the earth.  This is the Christ, God’s Son most high, who hears your sad and bitter cry, he will himself your Savior be, and from all sin will set you free.” Thank you, Lord!

“O holy Child of Bethlehem descend to us we pray, cast out our sins and enter in, be born in us today. O come to us, abide with us our Lord, Emmanuel!”

“O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie, above thy deep and dreamless sleep, the silent stars go by; yet in thy dark streets shineth, the everlasting Light, the hopes and fears of all the years, are met in thee tonight. For Christ is born of Mary, and gathered all above, while mortals sleep, the angels keep, their watch of wondering love. How silently, how silently, the wondrous gift is given! So God imparts to human hearts, the blessings of His heaven. No ear may hear His coming, but in this world of sin, where meek souls will receive him still, the dear Christ enters in.”

“And she gave birth to her first-born son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.”

“Hark, the herald angel sing, glory to the new born king, peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled, joyful, all ye nations rise, join the triumph of the skies, with angelic hosts proclaim, Christ is born in Bethlehem; hark! the herald angels sing, glory to the newborn King!”

Merry Christmas!

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! For behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the City of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord! And this will be a sign to you. You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger. And suddenly there appeared with the angel a great multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!”

“Hark the glad sound the Savior comes, the Savior promised long ago, let every heart, prepare a throne, and every voice a song!”

“He comes the prisoner to release, who in Satan’s bondage held, the gates of brass before him burst, the iron fetters yield. He comes the broken heart to bind, the bleeding soul to cure, and with the treasures of his grace, to enrich the humble poor.” What a Savior!

“On Jordan’s bank the Baptist cry, announces that the Lord is nigh, awake and hearken for he brings glad tidings of the king of Kings.”

“Then cleanse be every breast from sin, make straight the way for God within, and let each heart prepare a home, where such a mighty guest may come. For Thou art our salvation Lord, our refuge and our great reward, without Thy grace we waste away, like flowers that wither and decay.” Help us, Lord!

“Prepare the way O Zion, your Christ is drawing near, let every hill and valley a level way appear; greet one who comes in glory, foretold in sacred story, O blest is Christ that came, in Jesus holy name.”

Heavenly Father, we have heard your messengers’ warnings, to prepare the way, to make straight the path for you. But are we listening, are we prepared to meet our Savior? Lord, pour light upon us from above, and fill our hearts with ardent love, that as we hear the truth today, all wrong desires may burn away. Amen!
