“Our glad hosannas, Prince of peace, they welcome shall proclaim, and heaven’s eternal arches ring, with thy beloved name.” Our Prince of Peace, Hope, Joy and Love! What an awesome gift!

“Hark the glad sound the Savior comes, the Savior promised long; let every heart prepare a home, and every voice a song. He comes the prisoners to release, in Satan’s bondage held, the gates of brass before him burst, the iron fetters yield. He comes the broken heart to bind, the bleeding soul to cure, and with the treasures of his grace, to enrich the humble poor. Our glad hosanna, Prince of peace, they welcome shall proclaim, and heaven’s eternal arches ring, with thy beloved name.”

“O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie, above thy deep and dreamless sleep, the silent stars go by. Yet in thy dark streets shineth thee everlasting light, the hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.”

“For Christ is born of Mary and, gathered all above, while mortals sleep, the angels keep, their watch of wondering love. O morning stars, together proclaim the holy birth, and praises sing to God the King, and peace to men on earth. How silently, how silently, the wondrous gift is given! So God imparts to human hearts the blessings of His heaven. No ear may hear His coming, but in this world of sin, where meek souls will receive Him still, the dear Christ enters in.” My brothers and sisters in Christ, if only we could all receive our King, he will abide with us forever. It is never too late.

“Hark the herald angels sing, glory to the new born King, peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled, joyful all ye nations rise, join the triumph of the skies, with angelic host proclaim, Christ is born in Bethlehem, hark the herald angels sing, glory to the new born King.”

“Christ by highest heaven adored, Christ the everlasting Lord, late in time behold him come, offspring of a virgin’s womb, veiled in flesh the God-head see, hail the incarnate deity, pleased with man as man to dwell, Jesus or Emmanuel, hark the herald angels sing, glory to the new born King. Hail the heaven born Prince of peace! Hail the Son of Righteousness! Light and life to all he brings, risen with healing in his wings, mild he lays his glory by, born that man no more may die, born to raise the sons of earth, born to give them second birth. Hark the herald angels sing, glory to the newborn King!”

Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! For the Lord most high is awesome, He is a great King over all the earth. He will subdue the peoples under us, He will choose our inheritance for us, the excellence of Jacob whom he loves. Let earth receive her King with Joy!

“God has gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet. Sing praises to God, sing praises to our King, sing praises! For God is the King of all the world, sing praises with understanding. God reigns over the nations, God sits on His holy throne, and the shields of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted. Psalm 47

“Hark! A thrilling voice is sounding! “Christ is near,” we hear it say, cast away the works of darkness, all you children of the day!” My brothers and sisters in Christ, as we light the candle of Joy this week, let us liken the flame as to God’s light shining in the dark places of our lives, to bring us Joy.

“Startled at the solemn warning, let the earthbound soul arise; Christ, its sun, all sloth dispelling, shines upon the morning skies. See, the Lamb, so long expected, comes with pardon down from heaven, let us haste, with tears of sorrow, one and all, to be forgiven. So, when next he comes in glory, and the world is wrapped in fear, He will shield us with his mercy, and with words of love draw near.”

“O come, O come, Emmanuel, and ransomed captive Israel, that mourns in lowly exile here, until the Son of God appear. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel, shall come to Thee O Israel!”

“O come Thou branch of Jesse’s tree, free them from Satan’s Tyranny, and trust Thy might power to save, and give them victory o’re the grave. O come Thou Dayspring from on high, and cheer us by Thy drawing nigh,  disperse the gloomy clouds of night, and death’s dark shadow, put to flight. O come, desire of nations bind, in one the hearts of all mankind, bid thou our sad divisions cease, and be Thyself our King of Peace. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel, shall come to Thee O Israel.”

We won’t stop praising God until everyone knows him, until every knee bows to him.

“At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, every tongue confess him King of glory now; ’tis the Father’s pleasure we should call him Lord, who from the beginning was the mighty Word. At his voice creation sprang at once to sight, all the angel faces, all the hosts of light, thrones and dominations, stars upon their way, all the heavenly orders in their great array. Humbled for a season, to receive a name, from the lips of sinners, unto whom he came; faithfully he bore it spotless to the last, brought it back victorious when from death he passed; In your hearts enthrone him; there let him subdue, all that is not holy, all that is not true. Look to him, your Savior, in temptations’ hour; let his will enfold you in its light and power. Christians, this Lord Jesus shall return again, with his Father’s glory o’er the earth to reign; for all wreaths of empire meet upon his brow, and our hearts confess him King of glory now.”

Peace on earth goodwill to men! Let us stop our wrangling and strife and hear the message in the song the angels sing.

“It came upon the midnight clear, that glorious song of old, from angels bending near the earth, to touch their harps of gold! Peace on the earth, goodwill to men, from heaven’s all gracious King! The world in solemn stillness lay, to hear the angels sing. Still through the cloven skies they come, with peaceful wings unfurled, and still their heavenly music floats, o’er all the weary world; above its sad and lowly plains, they bend on hovering wing. And ever o’er its Babel sounds, the blessed angels sing. Yet with the woes of sin and strife, the world hath suffered long; beneath the angel-strain have rolled, two thousand years of wrong; and man, at war with man, hears not, the love song which they bring: o hush the noise, ye men of strife, and hear the angels sing. For lo! the days are hastening on, by prophet bards foretold, when, with the ever-circling years, shall come the Age of Gold; when peace shall over all the earth, its ancient splendors fling, and all the world give back the song, which now the angels sing.” Won’t you sing along?

Do you hear what I hear? Shhhhhh…I will let you in on the secret, the King is coming! Get ready!

“Said the night wind to the little lamb. Do you see what I see? Way up in the sky little lamb. Do you see what I see? A star, a star, dancing in the night, with a tail as big as a kite, with a tail as big as a kite. Said the little lamb to the Shepard boy. Do you hear what I hear? Ringing through the sky Shepard boy. Do you hear what I hear? A song, a song, high above the trees, with a voice as big as the sea, with a voice as big as the sea. Said the Shepard boy to the mighty king. Do you know what I know? In your palace wall mighty king. Do you know what I know? A child, a child, shivers in the cold, let us bring him silver and gold, let us bring him silver and gold.” My brothers and sisters in Christ, now that you have heard the good news, are you getting ready to meet the King?

“Savior of the nations come, Virgin’s son make here your home, marvel now O heaven and earth, that the Lord chose such a birth.” Thank you, Lord for sending your Son Jesus, the Savior of the world to redeem us.

“Not by human flesh and blood, but the Spirit of our God, was the Word of God made flesh, woman’s Offspring, pure and fresh. Wondrous birth! O wondrous Child, of the Virgin undefiled! Though by all the world disowned, still to be in heaven enthroned. From the Father forth He came, and returneth to the same, captive leading death and hell, high the song of triumph swell! Thou the Father’s only Son, hast o’er sin the victory won, boundless shall Thy kingdom be; when shall we its glories see? Brightly doth Thy manger shine, glorious is its light divine, let not sin overshadow this light; ever be our faith thus bright. Praise to God the Father sing, praise to God the Son, our King, praise to God the Spirit be, ever and eternally.”
