Then Jesus told them, “For a little while longer, the Light will be among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going.” John 12:35

“Give glory to the Lord your God before it is too late. Acknowledge him before He brings darkness upon you, causing you to stumble and fall on the darkening mountains. For then, when you look for light, you will find only terrible darkness and gloom. The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day, but the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.” Show us how to walk by the Light O God!

All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed, but those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants. John 3:20-21

And this is the verdict, the Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil. These men turn from the right way to walk down dark paths, but their evil intentions will be exposed when the Light shines on them, therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. Psalm 86:11

Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord. The Lord is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way. The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands. For the honor of your name, O Lord, forgive my many, many sins. Who is the man who fears the Lord? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose. The Lord is a friend to those who fear him. He teaches them his covenant. Psalm 25

“Teach me thy way O Lord, teach me thy way!” I thank God for giving the inspiration to song-writers like Benjamin Ramsay, for these beautiful songs that continually lift me up and help me in my walk with God.

“Teach me Thy way, O Lord, teach me Thy way! Thy guiding grace afford, teach me Thy way! Help me to walk aright, more by faith, less by sight; lead me with heav’nly light, teach me Thy way! When I am sad at heart, teach me Thy way! When earthly joys depart, teach me Thy way! In hours of loneliness, in times of dire distress, in failure or success, teach me Thy way! When doubts and fears arise, teach me Thy way! When storms o’erspread the skies, teach me Thy way! Shine through the cloud and rain, through sorrow, toil, and pain; make Thou my pathway plain, teach me Thy way! Long as my life shall last, teach me Thy way! Where’er my lot be cast, teach me Thy way! Until the race is run, until the journey’s done, until the crown is won, teach me Thy way!” Thank you, Lord!

Lord, please teach me how to always do the right thing, for blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord.

I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. I will not look with approval on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it. The perverse of heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with what is evil. I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride. I will search for faithful people to be my companions. The perverse in heart are an abomination to the Lord, but the blameless in their walk are His delight. Psalm 101

I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living. Psalm 116:9

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For You have delivered my soul from death, and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before You in the light of life. I will not die, but I will live and proclaim what the Lord has done. Please, O Lord, remember how I have walked before You faithfully and with wholehearted devotion; I have done what is good in Your sight. The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.” Lord, I did not always walk in the light of your countenance, but I have come to know You and You now sustain my walk with You. Thank You, Lord!

Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Psalm 37:3

“Delight yourself also in the Lord and he shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust in the Lord, and he will help you.  He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is our refuge. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; and He will bring it to pass.”

Taste and see that the Lord is good! Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Psalm 34:8

I have tasted and I have seen the goodness of the Lord. He has been my provider, my healer, my all in all. I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. More than that, I count all things as loss compared to the surpassing excellence of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish that I may gain Christ.” My brothers and sisters in Christ, to know about God is one thing, but when you come to know God it is everything. Taste and see that the Lord is good!

How great is Your goodness which You have laid up for those who fear You, and bestowed on those who take refuge in You in the sight of the sons of men. Psalm 31:19

“I cry to You, O Lord, You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living. Sinners frustrate the plans of the oppressed, yet the Lord is their shelter. I will say to the Lord, You are my refuge and fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” My brothers and sisters in Christ, because you have made the Lord your dwelling place, no evil shall triumph over you, and God’s goodness will overflow you. Keep the faith!

I would have lost heart unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord. Psalm 27:13

What have you experienced that you know for sure that it was the goodness of the Lord? How long have you waited to experience this blessing? Who sustained you while you waited?  Our faith in God, our belief, that God will allow us to see his goodness has borne fruit. For all that we have to go through, if we remain confident, we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. “Oh, give thanks to the Lord for He is good, for His mercy is everlasting.”
