Every day we should live in a state of readiness, doing all things pleasing to God. (PFEL)

We get prepared for weddings, for vacations, for the birth of a new baby and so many other events, but are we living in a state of spiritual readiness? My brothers and sisters in Christ, it is time for us to set our house in order, to prepare to meet our God. Let us strive everyday to do all things pleasing to God, being obedient to his every word, and creating a sanctuary in our hearts where Christ may dwell.

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress. Psalm 107:6

“Seek the Lord your God and you will find him. Seek him with all your heart and soul. When you are distresses and all these things come upon you, turn to the Lord your God and obey his voice, for the Lord your God is a merciful. He will not forsake you, nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which he swore to them.”

Who in the skies can be compared to the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord? Psalm 89:6

“O Lord, there is none like You among the gods, nor any works like Yours. Above the roar of many waters the mighty breakers of the sea, the Lord on high is majestic.”

“What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear, what a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer. Oh, what peace we often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer.”

My brothers and sisters in Christ, we have a friend in Jesus, cast your cares upon Him and He will all our burdens bear. “Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged, take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful? Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness, take it to the Lord in prayer.”

There are so many people who fail to realize what an awesome friend Jesus is. “Jesus is all the world to me, my life, my joy my all, He is my friend from day to day without Him I would fall; when I am sad to Him I go, no other one can cheer me so, when I am sad, He makes glad, He’s my friend.”

“Jesus is all the world to me, and true to Him I’ll be. Oh, how could I this Friend deny, when He’s so true to me? Following Him I know I’m right; He watches o’er me day and night. Following Him by day and night, He’s my Friend. Jesus is all the world to me, I want no better friend. I trust Him now; I’ll trust Him when life’s fleeting days shall end. Beautiful life with such a Friend; beautiful life that has no end! Eternal life, eternal joy, He’s my Friend.”

“My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus name. On Christ the solid Rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand.”

“His oath his covenant and blood, support me in the ‘whelming flood, when all around my soul gives way, he then is all my hope and stay. When darkness veils his lovely face, I rest on his unchanging grace, in every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil. On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand.”

But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. Micah 7:7

“Know that the Lord does wonders for the faithful. When I call upon the Lord, he will hear me.” Amen!

Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I call to You all day long. Psalm 86:3

“Answer me when I call O God, defender of my cause; you have set me free when I am hard-pressed. Have mercy on me and hear my prayer. In you, O Lord I have taken refuge, let me never be put to shame. Deliver me in your righteousness, incline your ear to me and make haste to deliver me. Be my strong Rock, a castle to keep me safe, for you are my strong tower, for the sake of your name, lead me and guide.”

In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence and his children shall have a place of refuge. Proverbs 14:26

My brothers and sisters in Christ, fear God and reap his benefits. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death. The fear of the Lord is strong confidence. The fear of the Lord leads to life, that one may rest content, without visitation from harm. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever.”

Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and lovely to praise Him! Psalm 147:1

“Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous; befitting is the praise of the upright. Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. The Lord is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him, and I will exalt Him.”
