Today marks the second Sunday of Advent, and as we begin to prepare our hearts and homes for the Christ Child, we should be filled with peace, the peace that comes with knowing Christ Jesus as our Lord and Master.

A candle is burning, a candle of PEACE, a candle to signal that conflict must cease, for Jesus is coming to show us the way, a message of Peace humbly laid in the hay. A happy and blessed Advent season is wished to all of you.

Lord, let my mouth be filled with Thy praise and with Thy honor all the day long. Psalm 7:18

If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not bridle his tongue, he deceives his heart and his religion is worthless. James 1:26

Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips. Psalm 141:3

He who guards his mouth protects his life, but the one who opens his lips invites his own ruin. Proverbs 13:3

I said, “I will watch my ways so that I will not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth with a muzzle as long as the wicked are present.” Psalm 39:1

Who is the man who delights in life, who desires to see good days? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceitful speech. Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever Isaiah 40:8.

“God is not a man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? I declare the end from the beginning, and ancient times from what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and all My good pleasure I will accomplish.”

Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away. Matthew 24:35

Your word, O Lord, is everlasting; it is firmly fixed in the heavens. Revive me according to Your loving devotion, that I may obey the testimony of Your mouth. Psalm 119

If we are children of the light we should walk in the light, putting away from us all works of darkness; so let us ask for God’s grace to help us.

Almighty God, give us grace to cast away the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light, now in the time of this mortal life, in which your Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility, that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal, through him who lives and reigns with you and the holy spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen! (BCC)

“Guide me, O my great Redeemer, pilgrim through this barren land; I am weak, but you are mighty; hold me with your powerful hand.” Thank you, Lord!

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10
