“Have you a heart that’s weary, tending a load of care? Are you a soul that’s seeking rest, from the burden you bear? Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard he loves you, and that he will abide till the end? Who knows your disappointments, who hears each time you cry? Who understands your heartaches, who dries the tears from your eyes? Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard he loves you, and that he will abide till the end?

If we then understand the promised of God, why are we not more trusting of him? The Lord is faithful, he does not change like we do, and whatever promises he has made to us, he will keep; but we must be faithful to him. We are reminded in Psalm 96, that, if we are bound to him, that he will deliver us, that he will protect us, and that because we know his name, we shall call upon him and he will answer.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, we must pray every day for the Lord to remove anything evil from before us, for the faith to resist temptation, which lead many of us to do evil in His sight and be far removed from Him. Let us learn to trust God for the things that we need and wait.

“We do not lose heart, for even though our outer-self is wasting away, yet our inner-self is being renewed day by day. Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from the ways of God.”

Despite the many trials we go through we are not crushed, perplexed or in despair, because, we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones whose souls will be saved.

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58

My brothers and sisters in Christ, yesterday I encouraged you to not give up, to keep doing all for the glory of God; but we who have sown in tears and reaped in joy understand the process. It’s never easy when we are going through something that threatens to destroy us, to rob us of our peace, but we persevered, we did not give up, we kept the faith, we trusted God, and he was faithful. It’s only after we have sown in tears that we would really understand what it really means to reap in joy.

What is it that you have been doing, that, even though you know it’s the right thing to do, you are getting weary? It could be that parent you are taking care of, or that sick wife or husband, that friend who is constantly crying on your shoulder, or that co-worker whose hand you always seem to be holding; whatever the situation, if you are doing it all for the glory of God, you cannot get tired, for Scripture reminds us, that, in due time we will reap a bountiful harvest. Many times we wonder when that time will come, as we are only human; but my friends, when the day gets dreary and the night seems longs, know that you have a friend who is near, a friend who can help you carry the load, to give you strength for the journey, just find a quiet place to rest for a moment and you will hear his loving voice saying, “Come unto me all ye who travel and are heavy laden and I will refresh you.”

Oh Lord, “May Your work be shown to Your servants, and Your splendor to their children, and may the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish for us the work of our hands. Psalm 90:16-17

“O Lord, I love the house where You dwell, the place where Your glory resides. Let me dwell in Your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. For I have seen You in the sanctuary, to behold Your power and glory.”
