For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction. Psalm 1:6
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked, or stand in the way that sinners take, or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law, day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season, and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever they do prospers.”
Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. Ephesians 6
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord. Ephesians 6:4
The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children who follow them. Proverbs 20:7
Discipline your children, and they will give you peace of mind and will make your heart glad. Following God’s design for discipline and parenting will bring harmony, honor, obedience, respect, and orderliness into your home. Proverbs 29:17
Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children. Proverbs 17:6
Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck. Proverbs 1:8-9
Mothers make too many sacrifices for their children, and deserve to be honored and respected.
A mother should never tolerate disrespect from any child at any age. Any woman could bear a child, but it takes a special breed to be mother; who puts the needs of her children ahead of hers. Going without, so that her children could have.
Mothers, our children are watching the way we operate. Be careful of how you treat your mothers, not just on Mother’s Day, but all year round.
My daughter looks at the way I treat my mother, how I look out for my mother, loving her, protecting her, providing for her as she did for me, and now she does the same. What goes around comes around.
For I have no greater joy, than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 1:4
Scripture reminds us that, “We should teach our children and grand-children the fear of the Lord. Teach them the commandments of the Lord, all the days of our lives that our days may be long. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. For, I have no greater joy, that to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”
Honor thy mother and father that thy days may be long. Leviticus 20:12
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. Proverbs 31:25-26. Do you know anyone who fits this description? I do. It is my mother and your mother.
Happy, Happy, Mother’s Day!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you who are blessed to be mothers, who are blessed to still have your mothers with you, blessed because someone who is not your child, calls you mother, and for all of you who had to step up and step in to be a mother to a child you did not birth. May God bless you all today and always.
“Through all the unchanging scenes of life, in trouble and in joy, the praises of my God shall still, my heart, my tongue, employ.”
“O, magnify the Lord with me, with me exalt his name, when in distress to him I called, he too my rescue came. The hosts of God encamp around, the dwelling of the just, deliverance he affords to all, who on his succor trust.” What an awesome God we serve!
