Lord, how can we ever thank you, for the wonderful things you have done for us?
“To God be the glory, great things he has done, so loved he the world that he gave us his son, who yielded his life in atonement for sin, and opened the life-gate that all may go in. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice, o come to the Father to Jesus the Son, and give him the glory, great things he has done!”
The Lord is good to all of us, but to those who seek him, those who have come to know him in an intimate way, their joy is complete.
“Jesus, the very thought of thee, with sweetness fills the breast; but sweeter far thy face to see, and in thy presence rest. O hope of every contrite heart, O joy of all the meek, to those who fall, how kind thou art! How good to those who seek! But what to those who find? Ah, this nor tongue nor pen can show; the love of Jesus, what it is, none but his loved ones know.”
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. John 3:19
“Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.”
The perverse in heart are an abomination to the Lord, but the blameless in their walk are His delight. Proverbs 11:20
Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may obey the commandments of my God. Psalm 119:115
I have kept my feet from every evil path, that I may keep Your word. I have not departed from Your ordinances, for You Yourself have taught me. Psalm 119:101-102
I will walk in my house with integrity of heart. I will set no worthless thing before my eyes. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me. The perverse of heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with what is evil. Psalm 101:2-4
Whatsoever thing I command you, observe to do it; thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. Deuteronomy 12:32
Be very strong, then, so that you can keep and obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, not turning aside from it to the right or to the left. Joshua 26:6
He who trusts in himself is a fool, but one who walks in wisdom will be saved. Proverbs 28:26
“Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted. These men turn from the right way to walk down dark paths.”
Blessed be the Lord, for he has shown me his marvelous kindness in a strong city. Psalm 31:21
“Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me, bless his holy name! He has done, great things, he has done great things, he has done great things, bless his holy name!”
Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Psalm 33:18-19
“Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You, in the presence of the sons of men! You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence, from the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.”
Light shines on the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. Psalm 97:11
“The lips of the righteous know what is fitting, but the mouth of the wicked is perverse. The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”
