“The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.”
I am grateful to Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me because he judged me faithful and appointed me to his service, even though I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and a man of violence. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. But I received mercy so that I could be an example to those who would come to believe in Him for eternal life. 1 Timothy 1
If then you have been raised with Christ, keep looking for the good things of heaven. This is where Christ is seated on the right side of God. Colossians 3:1
“My brothers and sisters in Christ, “Keep your minds thinking about things in heaven. Do not think about things on the earth. You are dead to the things of this world. Your new life is now hidden in God through Christ. Christ is our life. When He comes again, you will also be with Him to share His shining greatness.”
“Jesus calls us o’er the tumult of our life’s wild, restless sea; day by day his voice invites me, saying ‘Christian, follow me.’ As the first disciples heard it, by the Galilean Sea, turned from home and toil and kindred, leaving all for his dear sake.” Could we also do the same?
My brothers and sisters in Christ, this hymn, Jesus calls us o’er the tumult of our life’s wild, restless sea, has such a moving message, a call to action, to follow Jesus. I have made a decision to follow Jesus, anywhere, everywhere, I will follow on, anywhere he leads me, I will follow on. Praise God!
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Psalm 23:1
Lord, when you make me to lie down in green pastures, humble me, when you lead me beside the still waters, restore my soul, when you lead me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake, teach me how to walk uprightly, and when you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies, I will sit down and eat. and give you thanks.
“Take your son,” God said, “your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah. Offer him there. Genesis 22:2
“Fear God and live!” My brothers and sisters in Christ, It takes great faith to trust in God, and the more we mature in faith, the easier it becomes to trust him. He may not ask you to sacrifice your only son, but there will be times that you will be tested. Will you fail or will your faith increase? ‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take him at his words, just to rest upon his promise, just to know, THUS, said the Lord. Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him, how I’ve proved him more and more, oh, for grace to trust him more.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
“To God be the glory, great things he hath done, so loved he the world that he gave us his son, who yielded his life in atonement for sin and opened the life gate that all may go in. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice, oh, and give him the glory for the great things he hath done.”
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21
Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, live peaceably with all, and learn to overcome evil with good. Therefore, if your enemy is hungry, feed him, if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
Many, O Lord my God, are your wonderful works which you have done, and your thoughts towards us cannot be recounted to you in order, if I would declare and speak of them, they would be more than can be numbered. Psalm 40: 5
“I waited patiently for the Lord, and he inclined to me and heard my cry, he also brought me out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock and established my steps, he has put a new song in my mouth, praise to our God. Many will see it and fear and will trust in the Lord.”
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Choose life, so that you and your descendants may live, loving the Lord your God and obeying him. Deuteronomy 30
“If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, walking in his ways and observe his commandments, then you shall live and become numerous and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess, but, if your heart turns away and you do not hear but are led astray, to bow down to other gods and serve them, I declare to you today that you shall perish.”
So, therefore, every one of you who does not give up all that he himself possesses is not able to be My disciple. Luke 14:33
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Jesus told them if you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”
