Oh God, give us the courage to hear you when you call and the courage to say, “Hear I am, Lord. Send me”. So many times you have called us by name, but it falls on deaf ears, too many times you have ordered our steps and we try to walk in our own wilful way, but today Lord, we are standing in your presence and we are attentive to your voice, and we are ready to hear and answer your call. When we ask God to give us this day our daily bread, it should not be just a request for God to provide food for our bellies but for the food that nourishes our souls, His holy word. Let us remember each day to ask God for an abundance of spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that we can share a word with those who are lost or hurting. So, please God, give us today our daily bread, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
