“Leave not for tomorrow the work of today, for time like an arrow is speeding away, the harvest is ready, look out for the plain, go thrust in the sickle and gather the grain.” Are you ready?

“Leave not for tomorrow the work of today, the moments are precious, then why should we stay? The Master is calling again and again, go thrust in the sickle and gather the grain. Leave not for tomorrow the work for today, the summer is waning, no longer delay. The sheaves for the reaping wave bright o’re the plan, go thrust in the sickle and gather the grain.”

“Behold the Master now is calling, for reapers brave and true, the golden harvest fields are waiting, but laborers are few. Go forth with patience, love, and kindness, and in the Master’s name, the blessed news of free salvation, to all the world proclaim.”

My brothers and sisters in Christ, if you have answered the Master’s call, for reapers brave and true, “Go forth, and rescue those that perish, where sin and darkness reign, go lend a helping hand to save them, and break the tempter’s chain. Go bid the poor with joy and gladness, the feast of love to share, and He, the Bread of Life Eternal, will make them welcome there. Go forth, the summer days are waning, their light will soon be o’re, the solemn hour is quickly coming, when we can work no more.”

My brothers and sisters in Christ, let us get to work; “The fields are all ripening far and wide, and the world now is waiting for the harvest tide, but reapers are few and the work is great, and much will be lost should the harvest wait.”

“Oh, where are the reapers that garner in, the sheaves of the good from the fields of sin? With sickles of truth must the work be done, and no one may rest till the harvest home. Go out in the byways and search for them all, the wheat may be there in the weeds growing tall, then search in the highway and pass none by, but gather from all for the home on high. Oh, where are the reapers, oh who will come, and share in the glory of the harvest home? Oh, who will help us to garner in, the sheaves of good from the fields of sin? So, come out with your sickles ye sons of men, and gather together the golden grain, toil on till the Lord of the harvest come, then share in the joy of the harvest home.”

“The harvest truly is plentiful but the laborers are few.” My brothers and sisters in Christ, there is much work to be done in God’s vineyard. For the Lord our God shall come, and shall take the harvest home. Will you be among the sheaves of wholesome grain or be the tares that are cast into the fire?

“Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home; all is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin. God our Maker doth provide for our wants to be supplied; come to God’s own temple, come, raise the song of harvest home. All the world is God’s own field, fruit as praise to God we yield; wheat and tares together sown are to joy or sorrow grown; first the blade and then the ear, then the full corn shall appear; Lord of harvest, grant that we, wholesome grain and pure may be. For the Lord our God shall come, and shall take the harvest home; from the field shall in that day all offenses purge away, giving angels charge at last in the fire the tares to cast; but the fruitful ears to store, in the garner evermore.”

Lord, you have given us so many reasons to give you thanks and praise. But, for myself who have wandered for so long and you sought me, and embraced me into your fold; is reason enough to give you abundant praise. Lord, I will forever enter into your gates with thanksgiving, and into your courts with praise. Thank you, Lord!

“Come, thou Fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace; streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me ever to adore Thee, may I still Thy goodness prove; while the hope of endless glory, fills my heart with joy and love. Here I raise mine Ebenezer; hither by Thy help I’ve come; and I hope, by Thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God; He, to rescue me from danger, interposed His precious blood. O, to grace how great a debtor, daily I’m constrained to be! Let Thy goodness, like a fetter, bind me closer still to Thee. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love; here’s my heart, Lord, take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above.” Thank you, Lord!

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise; be thankful to him, and bless his name. Psalm 100:4

“Great is the Lord, our God, and let His praise be great; He makes His churches His abode, His most delightful seat. These temples of His grace, how beautiful they stand, the honors of our native place and bulwarks of our land! Far as Thy Name is known, the world declares Thy praise; Thy saints, O Lord, before Thy throne, their sons of honor raise. With joy Thy people stand, on Zion’s chosen hill, proclaim the wonders of Thy hand, and councils of Thy will.”

“As longs the deer for cooling streams, in parched and barren ways, so longs my soul, O God, for Thee, and Thy refreshing grace.” Lord, please give me a constant thirsting for you.

“For Thee, my God, the living God, my thirsty soul doth pine; O when shall I behold Thy face, Thou majesty divine? Why restless, why cast down, my soul? Hope still, and Thou shalt sing the praise of Him who is thy God, Thy health’s eternal spring.” My brothers and sisters in Christ, when we come to know God, we experience a joy that cannot be explained; it’s unspeakable!

Heavenly Father, your word reminds us, to seek and find, to knock and it will be opened, but we have been seeking and knocking at all the wrong places, please Lord, show us the way.

“Like the woman at the well, I was seeking, for things that could not satisfy, and then I heard my Savior speaking, “Draw from My well that never shall run dry. Fill my cup, Lord; I lift it up Lord; come and quench this thirsting of my soul, Bread of Heaven, feed me till I want no more, fill my cup, fill it up, fill it up and make me whole. There are millions in this world who are seeking, for pleasures earthly goods afford; but none can match the wondrous treasure, that I find in Jesus Christ my Lord. So, my brother, if the things that this world gives you, leave hungers that won’t pass away, my blessed Lord will come and save you, if you kneel to Him and humbly pray.”

Lord, “As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs after You, You, alone are my heart’s desire and I long to worship You. You, alone are my strength, my shield, to You alone may my spirit yield, You, alone are my heart’s desire and I long to worship You.”

Lord, “I want You more than gold or silver, only You can satisfy, You alone are the real joy giver and the apple of my eye. You’re my friend and You’re my brother, even though You are a King. I love You more than any other, so much more than anything. You, alone are my strength, my shield, to You alone may my spirit yield, You, alone are my heart’s desire and I long to worship You.” Help me, Lord!

I will bless the Lord who counsels me; even at night my conscience instructs me. Psalm 16:7

Lead me and guide me, O Lord, in your righteousness so that I may rejoice in you. “I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night, for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. Psalm 63:6-7
