“Lord, I offer myself and my small journey for all those who today still cause you agony, by perpetuating the rejection you suffered as God-made-Man.”

As we reflect on the Fourteen Stations of the Cross in memory of Jesus’ passion, may each step lead us closer to his death for our love, so that with each step we may die more to self.

“Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your loving kindness, according to Your great compassion, blot out my transgressions. For You are my rock and my fortress; lead me and guide me for the sake of Your name.”

“Keep Your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin.”

“I praise thee, Lord, for cleansing me from sin; fulfill thy Word and make me pure within. Fill me with fire where once I burned with shame; grant my desire to magnify thy name. Lord, take my life and make it wholly thine, fill my poor heart with thy great love divine. Take all my will, my passion, self, and pride; I now surrender; Lord, in me abide.”

Almighty God, whose blessed Son was led by the Spirit to be tempted by Satan; come quickly to help us who are assaulted by many temptations, and as you know the weaknesses of each of us, let each one find you mighty to save, through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen. (BCP

“There’s a wicked spirit watching round you still, and he tries to tempt you to all harm and ill. But you must not hear him, though it’s hard for you, to resist the evil and the good to do.” This was one of my favorite Sunday School hymns and is so appropriate for the Lenten Season.

“Are you washed in the blood, in the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb? Are your garments spotless are they white as snow, are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

If we say we have no sin the truth i not in us, but if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
