Monthly Archives: February 2015

Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of the Lenten Season, and we will prepare ourselves for the resurrection of Christ on Easter Day.

Let this time be to us a season of penitence and fasting, a season of reflection, self-examination and self-denial; this is a time when we should be mindful of all the wrongs that we have done, and confess them before God and ask his forgiveness and receive new life in Him.

Are you confident this morning, that God is able to meet all of your needs according to his riches in glory?

If we believe that the Lord is our shepherd who leads us in green pastures, know that he is able to supply all of our needs. God is able to supply all of our needs out of his abundance. God is able to supply our needs because he is our good shepherd and a good shepherd looks after his flock, and he reminds us, that he is our God, that, we are the people of his pasture, the sheep of his hand, we are his flock and therefore, under the shadow of his wings we shall abide. So, enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise, for we serve a God who provides, a God who is able. Praise the Lord!

Are you doing what is necessary that you may be able to abide in God’s tabernacle or dwell in his holy hill?

Many of us desire to abide in God’s tabernacle and to dwell in his holy hill, but we are not prepared to walk uprightly or do works that will bring honor and glory to God’s name. My brothers and sisters in Christ, God knows our hearts, he knows those who fear him and he will judge every one of us according to our works. Do good therefore, that you may be able to abide in God’s tabernacle and dwell in his holy hill. Praise the Lord!

Father, we thank thee for carrying us through the night, we thank you for this new day, but most of all we thank you for your love and care.

Lord, we know not what this day will bring forth, so ask your protection especially in the face of this blizzard. Lord, we understand that your work must be done in heaven and in earth, but be merciful unto us. Protect especially those who are alone, those who homeless, those emergency workers who are doing their best to keep us safe. Lord, you show us your mighty works so that we would know that you are the Lord, and that you are in control, and so we will worship and glorify your name in all things. Thank you, Lord!

Do you truly love the Lord?

How can we love the Lord, and not be willing to sing his praises? Begin today to tell it out abroad, the goodness of the Lord. Tell of his love, his mercy and his grace. Let someone else see God through you, be kind, loving, and true, for God’s love is like a burning fire it will shut up in your bones if you refuse to tell of it. Praise the Lord!

Will you seek God today while you may yet be able to find him?

For too long  you have been searching in the wrong places, for too long you have been yearning for the  earth-joys which cannot fulfill, come to the fountain, there is fullness in Jesus, all that you are longing for, come, and be glad.

What has God done for you that you are willing to tell others?

“I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore, very deeply stained in sin, sinking to rise no more, when the Master of the sea, heard my despairing cry, from the waters lifted me now safe am I. Love, lifted me, God’s love lifted me, when nothing else could help, His love, lifted me.” Praise the Lord!

Are you will to leave those things behind which hinder you from pressing on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus?

Lord, we will no longer count ourselves as being apprehended, but will press on toward the goal, so lift us up and let us stand, by faith on heaven’s table land, no higher plane that we have found, Lord, plant our feet on higher ground. Lord, our hearts have no desire to stay, where doubts arise and fears dismay, though some may dwell where those abound, our prayer, our aim, is higher ground. Praise the Lord!

Will you trust God to fulfill your every desire?

He said, “Open your mouth wide and I will, fill it with good things.” The Lord is good to all, and his tender mercies are over all his works. The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. Men will speak of his mighty acts and meditate on the glorious splendor of his majesty, they shall utter the memory of your goodness and shall sing O Lord of your righteousness. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised for his wonderful acts towards the children of men.

Are you ready and willing to confess your sins to Almighty God and receive forgiveness? Let us humbly confess our sins before God and our neighbor.

“Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you, in thought, word and deed, by what we have done, and by what we left undone, we have not loved you with our whole heart, we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves, we are truly sorry and earnestly repent, for the sake of your son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us, that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the honor and glory of your name; Amen!”
