“And Abraham was fully convinced, that what God had promised, that he was able to perform, and therefore, it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

How many of you this morning are convinced that whatever you ask of God that he is able to perform?  Many of us have been praying for a long time, and waiting for God to answer favorably seems long and hard. For twelve years I have been praying to God for one thing, and many times, I will admit, that my faith wavered, and I had to remind myself, that God said he would bring it to pass in his own time, and now, I am fully convinced, that God is able to bring it to pass. I’ve been waiting twelve years and it seems like a long time, but Abraham was a hundred years old and still fully convinced, that what God had promised him that he was able to deliver. We read in Romans chapter 4, “And not being weak in faith, Abraham did not consider his own body, already dead, since he was a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb, he did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what he had promised, he was able to perform.” God, give us a faith that will not shrink though pressed by every foe that will not waver on the brink, of any earthly woe. Teach us, Lord, to meekly wait and murmur not, convinced, that whatever you promise that you are able to perform. Keep us strong in the faith, continually giving you all the glory and all the praise, so that it may be accounted to us for righteousness. Thank you, Lord!
