“Lifted up was He to die. ‘It is finished’ was his cry. Now in heaven exalted high. Hallelujah! What a Savior!” We too who have suffered a while, will one day be lifted up. Keep the faith!

“When He comes, our glorious King, to His kingdom us to bring, then anew this song we’ll sing. Hallelujah! what a Savior!” I want to see Jesus in his heavenly kingdom! So, Lord, prepare to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true, with thanksgiving, I’ll be a living sanctuary for you.

“When I survey the wond’rous cross, on which the Prince of Glory died, My richest gain I count but loss, and pour contempt on all my pride.”

“Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe; sin had left a crimson stain, but He washed it white as snow.” Thank you, Lord!

“Man of Sorrows,” What a name, for the Son of God who came! Ruined sinners to reclaim!  Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Bearing shame and scoffing rude, in my place condemned He stood. Sealed my pardon with His blood. Hallelujah! what a Savior! Guilty, vile, and helpless, we, spotless Lamb of God was He. Full redemption—can it be? Hallelujah! what a Savior! What a Savior, who has done so much for us. Give him the glory!

The right hand of the Lord has triumphed! The right hand of the Lord is exalted! This is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes. Psalm 118

“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. He has triumphed over death and the grave. The grave could hold him. Jesus Christ triumphed over death through His resurrection. He died and rose again on the third day, never to die again.” To God be the glory, great things he has done!”

“Jesus Christ is risen today. Alleluia! Our triumphant holy day. Alleluia! Who did once upon the cross. Alleluia! Suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!” Thank you, Lord!

“Hymns of praise then let us sing. Alleluia! Unto Christ, our heavenly king. Alleluia! Who endured the cross and grave. Alleluia! Sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia! But the pains which He endured. Alleluia! Our salvation have procured. Alleluia! Now above the sky He’s king. Alleluia! Where the angels ever sing. Alleluia!” Oh, the joys of Eastertide! Just loving the season.

“The day of resurrection! Earth, tell it out abroad; the Passover of gladness the Passover of God. From death to life eternal, from earth unto the sky, our Christ hath brought us over, with hymns of victory.”

“Now let the heavens be joyful! Let Earth her song begin! Let the round world keep triumph, and all that is therein! Let all things seen and unseen their notes in gladness blend, for Christ the Lord hath risen, our joy that hath no end.”

“Alleluia! The strife is o’er, the battle done; the victory of life is won; the song of triumph has begun. Alleluia! The powers of death have done their worst, but Christ their legions hath dispersed: let shouts of holy joy outburst. Alleluia!”

“The three sad days have quickly sped; he rises glorious from the dead, all glory to our risen Head! Alleluia! He closed the yawning gates of hell; the bars from heaven’s high portals fell, let hymns of praise his triumphs tell. Alleluia! Lord, by the stripes which wounded thee, from death’s dread sting thy servants free, that we may live and sing to thee. Alleluia!”

The Lord is rise indeed. Hallelujah! Happy Easter!

Up from the grave he arose, with a mighty triumph o’re his foes, he arose victorious from the dark domain, and he lives forever with his saints to raise, he arose, he arose, hallelujah, Christ arose!

On the next day, which was a Sabbath, the chief priests and the Pharisees went together to Pilate.  They said, “Sir, we remember what this liar said while he was still alive. He claimed in three days he would come back from death. So please order the tomb to be carefully guarded for three days. If you don’t, his disciples may come and steal his body. They will tell the people he has been raised to life, and this last lie will be worse than the first one.” Pilate said to them, “All right, take some of your soldiers and guard the tomb as well as you know how.” So, they sealed it tight and placed soldiers there to guard it.

The Sabbath was over, and it was almost daybreak on Sunday when Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.  Suddenly a strong earthquake struck, and the Lord’s angel came down from heaven. He rolled away the stone and sat on it. The angel looked as bright as lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4 The guards shook from fear and fell down, as though they were dead.

Many women had come with Jesus from Galilee to be of help to him, and they were there, looking on at a distance. Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of James and John were some of these women.

That evening a rich disciple named Joseph from the town of Arimathea went and asked for Jesus’ body. Pilate gave orders for it to be given to Joseph, who took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth. Then Joseph put the body in his own tomb that had been cut into solid rock and had never been used. He rolled a big stone against the entrance to the tomb and went away.
