“Do no sinful action, speak no angry word; you belong to Jesus, children of the Lord. Christ is kind and gentle, Christ is pure and true, and his little children must be holy too.”

“There’s a wicked spirit watching round you still, and he tries to tempt you to all harm and ill. But you must not hear him, though it’s hard for you, to resist the evil and the good to do.” This was one of my favorite Sunday School hymns and is so appropriate for the Lenten Season.

Purge me from my sin and I shall be pure. Wash me and I shall be clean indeed. Psalm 51:8

“Are you washed in the blood, in the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb? Are your garments spotless are they white as snow, are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

You cannot repent of what you will not confess.

If we say we have no sin the truth i not in us, but if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion, blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. Psalm 51

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

Let today be the day you give up who you are and focus more on who you could become over the next forty days.

Ash Wednesday blessings to you. As we begin this forty-day Lenten journey, may we be strengthened to carry our crosses, encouraged to walk in God’s goodness, be diligent in prayer, reflection, and fasting, and may we seriously consider our ways, and strive to live a more godly and sober life, so that we could be changed in the image and likeness of Christ.

Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” 1 John 4:14

“Please, sir,” the woman said, “Give me this water! Then I’ll never be thirsty again, and I won’t have to come here to get water.” Jesus answered, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst.”

Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him. John 7:38

“On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and called out in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.”

Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. Isaiah 12:3

“Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. For the Lord God is my strength and my song, and He also has become my salvation.”

The precepts of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart; the commandments of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. Psalm 19:8

Send out Your light and Your truth; let them lead me. Let them bring me to Your holy mountain, and to the place where You dwell. Psalm 43:3

Those who look to Him are radiant with joy; their faces shall never be ashamed. Psalm 34:5

“Singers and pipers will proclaim, and all of my springs of joy are in You. You turned my mourning into dancing; You peeled off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.”
