What is the stronghold in your life this morning that you are afraid to shake?
Whatever the stronghold in your life this morning, it can be shaken, because, if we are children of God, we are on the winning side, he has already gained the victory for us, but, we need to walk in the power that he has given to us to break every strongholds in our lives, whether they be jealousy, envy or revenge, spiritual, financial, physical or emotional. If we are faith-filled, we could speak to the stronghold in our lives this morning, and tell it that the battle is not ours, but the Lord’s, and that he will win every time; then you sit back, be strong in the Lord, and watch him break every stronghold in your life.
Will the Lord visit you through the whirlwind or the storm?
The Lord was angry with Job and he spoke to him through a whirlwind, he chastised him until he got his attention. Many of us are like Job, our friends will see us engaged in wrong-doing, provoking the Lord, and will try to speak to us, but, we refuse to listen. Many of them are God’s messengers sent to help us, and when we refuse to listen to God’s messengers, he intercedes, and when he does, he speaks to us through the storms in our lives, some of us listen, but, some of us perish, because we fail to listen and examine ourselves. Will the Lord visit you in the whirlwind or the storm today?
Will you forsake all others and seek after God’s kingdom and his righteousness?
Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers and sisters, mother or father, children or fields for my sake and for the sake of the good news, who will not receive a hundred-fold now in this age and in the age to come eternal life.” Let us therefore seek after God’s kingdom and his righteousness, so that all good things will be added to us.
Is your sin or mine concealed from the eyes of the Lord?
Absolutely not! All of us are naked before God. He sees our secret faults, he is able to discern the thoughts and the intensions of our hearts, good or evil. My brothers and sisters in Christ, God will bring every one of our deeds good or bad into judgment. We will all have to give an account of our stewardship. Those things that we do in secret and believe that no one sees us, know that God is able to see them, and not only that, he knows our frailty in our service to him, and that is why he makes intercessions for us, that is why he is able to sympathize with our weaknesses. Therefore, let us return to the Lord, and humbly make our confessions before him. Our God is awesome, he is an understanding and forgiving God, seek him, while he may yet be found. Praise the Lord!
Lord, what can I do today to bring honor and glory to your name?
I will adorn myself with your full armor oh God, so that I would be ready for any task you set before me. I am willing Lord, and I know that you have already equipped me for any battle I will face, and that I will be victorious. I have put on the sandals of peace that comes from the Good News so that I will be fully prepared. My loins are girded with Truth and I am clothed with the breastplate of righteousness. I have taken up the shield of faith, with which I will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. I am armed with the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Therefore, I will be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might, and I will be able to all things to bring honor and glory to his name, because he strengthens me. Thank you, Lord!
Do dwell in the house of the Lord, or in the tents of the wicked?
Lord, I desire to dwell in your holy habitation and not in the tents of the wicked. Please keep my feet from slipping and following the steps of evil doers. Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak cordially with their neighbors but harbor malice in their hearts. Lord, let me walk in my integrity; redeem me, and be gracious to me, so that I may dwell in your house and the place where your glory dwells. Amen!
How thankful are you this morning for all that the Lord has done for you?
If you are truly thankful, will you lift high the name of Jesus for all that he has done and continue to do for you? Every morning I awake, there is a song of praise on my lips. I lift God up in praise from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, because our God is awesome. He gives us so much more than we could ever earn or deserve, therefore, we will give him all the glory and praise due his name. Thank you, Lord!
Would you rather be a friend of the world or have Jesus as your friend?
My brothers and sisters in Christ, the best thing you could do is to have Jesus as your friend. I am in agreement with Augustine of Hippo who said, “To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek him, the greatest adventure; and to find him, is the greatest human achievement.” I have been on a spiritual journey with my God, and it truly has been a romance, an adventure, a thriller, and the best thing that could have happened to me. The world could hate me because Jesus chose me out of the world, but I would still be happy because Jesus is the sweetest friend I know.
Are you a branch of the True Vine?
My brothers and sisters in Christ, if you are a branch of the True Vine, you cannot help but bear good fruit. If your father is the Vinedresser, know that He will continually prune you so that you will bear more fruit. Many of us are unfruitful because we refuse to abide in God, and apart from Him we can do nothing. So my friends, I am encouraging you this morning to continually abide in God, let His words abide in you, so that your joy may be full, so that whatever you ask you will receive.
Do you need any other invitation from God this morning to give him your heavy burdens?
Jesus is begging you and I this morning, to give it all to Him, all of our struggles and trials and worries and weariness, our cares and concerns, our heartaches and failures, our disappointments and pains. You may be ashamed this morning to tell your friend what you are going through, you may feel that no one would be willing or able to help you, but, Jesus is saying to you this morning, “Come”, give me all of your heavy burdens and in return, I will give you rest. Thank you, Lord!
