How do we fight against the Lord?

We fight against the Lord when we go contrary to his will for us, we fight against the Lord, when we take things that he did not give to us, we fight against the Lord, when we are rebellious and follow the desires of our hearts. My brothers and sisters in Christ, God gives us blessings without trouble, let us learn to wait on the Lord and not fight against Him.

Why is God so merciful to us?

God is merciful to us because He is a God who cannot lie, if we are faithless, God remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself. Genesis 28:15 reminds us of his faithfulness. He said, “I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” God is merciful to us, because He loves us unconditional, just as we should strive to love Him too.

Our God is a God of change, but a God who will never change towards us. Thank you, Lord!

Thank you, Lord, for your goodness which never changes nor fails towards us. Give us faithful hearts to trust you completely, knowing that you are our friend who never change with the changing years, or like shifting shadows, that you are the only constant in our lives, and that we should try to be undivided in our focus on you and in our service to you. Thank you, Lord!

Why should we fear the Lord?

My brothers and sisters in Christ, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Those who fear the Lord will not lack anything good. Those who fear the Lord are like mount Zion, for when their enemies shall attack them they shall not be moved, though wars break out against them, they will not be afraid, for the Lord their God is with them. Oh, praise the Lord this morning, all you who fear the Lord, and worship Him in the beauty of holiness, all the days of your lives.

What is preventing you from giving God a praise this morning? Go on, Give God a praise!

Stop right where you are and give God praise, don’t think; just stop right where you are and give God a praise. You have been blessed, you have been blessed in so many ways, but, did you stop, did you stop to give God a praise? There were times when you were down, when you were standing on shaky ground, when your back was against the wall, when you were just about to fall, something or someone picked you up, and set you straight again. That something was Jesus. That someone was Jesus. If you did not know it then, you know it now. So, stop right where you are, and give God a praise. You were sick, you were in need, you prayed for God to intercede. You were highly favored, you were healed, your strength was renewed, but, did you stop to give God a praise? Did you stop, did you stop to give God a praise? Stand right where you are, stand right where you are, and give God a praise! (One of my favorites from my book – Prayers for Everyday Living)

Is there anything too hard for God?

I have seen the handiwork of God, and I am sure you have too. If we trusted Him then, why should we stop now? Our God is a God of completion! Our God does everything well! Our God has already predestined good things for us! Our God is able to do the impossible that frustrates us. All we need to do is to believe, to trust and to wait for God to work His purpose out. Will you believe, trust God and wait?

How many of us return to say, “Thank you, Lord” for what he has done for us?

We forget so easily the good things God does for us, but, for those of us who have experienced the greatness of the Lord, we are constantly telling others what Jesus has done for us, we are forever lifting Him up in praise, because we understand, that what He does for us no one else could have or would have been willing to do for us. Therefore, we say, “Thank you, Lord, for all that you have done and continue to do for us.”

Art thou weary, art thou languid, art thou sore distressed? “Come to Me,” saith One, “and coming, be at rest.

“Hath He marks to lead me to Him, if He be my Guide? In His feet and hands are wound prints and His side. Hath He diadem, as monarch, that His brow adorns? Yes, a crown in very surety, but of thorns. If I find Him, if I follow, what His guerdon here? Many a sorrow, many a labor, many a tear. If I still hold closely to Him, what hath He at last? Sorrow vanquished, labor ended, Jordan passed. If I ask Him to receive me, will He say me nay? Not till earth and not till Heaven, pass away. Finding, following, keeping, struggling, is He sure to bless? Saints, apostles, prophets, martyrs, answer, yes!”

The warning is clear. Will you bend or will you be broken?

My brothers and sisters in Christ, the fear of the Lord, is the beginning of wisdom but fools despise wisdom and instruction. “If sinners entice you, do not consent, for their feet run to evil and they make haste to shed blood. Let us turn at the Lord’s rebuke and surely, He will pour out His spirit upon us. But, if we refuse to bend after many warnings, we will experience sudden brokenness which will be beyond repair. Whoever is wise among us will turn away from wickedness and hardness of heart and live.

Did you choose God, or did God choose you!

Many of us have been given the choice to choose the world or to choose God and we have the chosen the world. But I am here to remind you this morning, that, God could choose us at any time, His grace could save us at any time, but, he wants us to come to him willingly. All we need to do is to take that first step by faith and God will do the rest. My brothers and sisters in Christ, I give God all the glory and all the praise, because if He had not chosen me when He did, the world would have enthralled me, and blinded me to God’s heavenly glories, but, thanks be to God, His grace saved me, and it could save you too. Praise the Lord!
