Are you envious of those more fortunate than yourself? Stop! This will only bring you trouble.
When you see others around you who are being blessed, instead of being angry at others and rebellious against God, take comfort in prayer, meditate on God’s word, and remind yourself, that God is the giver of all good things, that he knows your needs before you ask and if you are patient, grateful and thankful, you could be next in line for a blessing.
Are you unevenly yoked this morning with unbelievers? Who is standing in the pathway of you and your God?
There are some people who have turned away from me, just stopped being my friend since I gave my life to Christ. Some have judged me wrongly, some have accused me of unjustly, but I made a covenant with my God that I will not allow anything to separate us. So anyone or anything that is determined to come between me and my God will lose. If you are not for me you will be against me, but if God be for us, who can be against us?
Will you accept God’s grace in vain, or will you truly be reconciled with Him? The time to begin is now, the place to begin is here.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, no matter what we have done, or where we have been, through God’s good grace we are able to freely accept the gift salvation, but we must not accept it in vain. Let us accept this gift, while it is still being offered to us, while now is the accepted time, and be reconciled to God, for tomorrow may be too late. Thank you, Lord, for your GRACE and SALVATION so freely offered to us.
Have you been unfaithful to God, prideful, untrue and impatient before Him?
It is never too late to confess our misusings of God’s grace, let us come before his presence and acknowledge our sinful, evil ways, and God in His mercy will hear us.
Are you ready and willing for God to bring a change to your life?
Only God can order our unruly minds, only God can effect much needed changes in our lives, but we must humbly make our confession to him, acknowledge the sins which are grievous unto him, ask for his forgiveness and for him to create a change in you and he will.
How could we say we love you Lord, and not do your will?
Lord, please help us to be not only hearers of your word but doers of your word, teach us how to trust you for everything, removed from us fear, doubt and insecurity, so that we could depend on you at every turn in our lives. Lord, we find it hard to love our neighbors as ourselves because they are difficult, but remind us of how difficult we are ourselves, but that you still love us. We have failed you time and time again, yet you have forgiven us, but we find it hard to forgive those who trespass against us, help us Lord.
Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of the Lenten Season, and we will prepare ourselves for the resurrection of Christ on Easter Day.
Let this time be to us a season of penitence and fasting, a season of reflection, self-examination and self-denial; this is a time when we should be mindful of all the wrongs that we have done, and confess them before God and ask his forgiveness and receive new life in Him.
Are you confident this morning, that God is able to meet all of your needs according to his riches in glory?
If we believe that the Lord is our shepherd who leads us in green pastures, know that he is able to supply all of our needs. God is able to supply all of our needs out of his abundance. God is able to supply our needs because he is our good shepherd and a good shepherd looks after his flock, and he reminds us, that he is our God, that, we are the people of his pasture, the sheep of his hand, we are his flock and therefore, under the shadow of his wings we shall abide. So, enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise, for we serve a God who provides, a God who is able. Praise the Lord!
Are you doing what is necessary that you may be able to abide in God’s tabernacle or dwell in his holy hill?
Many of us desire to abide in God’s tabernacle and to dwell in his holy hill, but we are not prepared to walk uprightly or do works that will bring honor and glory to God’s name. My brothers and sisters in Christ, God knows our hearts, he knows those who fear him and he will judge every one of us according to our works. Do good therefore, that you may be able to abide in God’s tabernacle and dwell in his holy hill. Praise the Lord!
Father, we thank thee for carrying us through the night, we thank you for this new day, but most of all we thank you for your love and care.
Lord, we know not what this day will bring forth, so ask your protection especially in the face of this blizzard. Lord, we understand that your work must be done in heaven and in earth, but be merciful unto us. Protect especially those who are alone, those who homeless, those emergency workers who are doing their best to keep us safe. Lord, you show us your mighty works so that we would know that you are the Lord, and that you are in control, and so we will worship and glorify your name in all things. Thank you, Lord!
