Where does affliction and trouble come from?

We reap what we sow. When we are disobedient, when we plant evil seeds, the end result is trouble and affliction which does not only hurt the ones who plant the evil seeds, but as we are reminded in Job chapter five, their sparks fly upward and they ignite. We must be careful of the seeds we sow and learn to walk in obedience to God.

Do you ever wonder why people are always mindful of where you have been even though you have left there a long time ago?

Their aim is to shame you; I don’t know about you, but, glory be to God for the places I have been and the things I have done, for through grace and by faith God delivered me from those places and things, and I go there no more nor do them anymore. I have moved on and will keeping moving on in the strength of the Lord. I will never be ashamed of where I have been, I will continually tell others my story so that they could understand, that the same God who saved me, could save them too. So your reminders are no longer hidden shame, but success stories. Praise the Lord!

What could we do to make somebody happy today?

We cannot make anyone else happy, if we ourselves are not happy. So first, let us be joyful in the Lord, be content with such things as we have, and the little that we have will be more than enough, to make somebody happy today.

If God is your salvation, why are you afraid?

Many of us claim that the Lord has become our salvation, yet we are afraid, our hearts tremble at the first sign of trouble, we are faithless in the time of storm, but if we truly accept the Lord as our salvation we will trust him with our whole hearts and not be afraid, we will draw water from the wellspring of life, which will sustain us in troubled times. Praise the Lord!

Are you in the army of the Lord?

Be of good courage, for the Lord will strengthen your heart. Preach his word in season and out of season, tell of all his wondrous works and do not be afraid of them, for those who are with you are more than those who are against you. So, stand up, stand for Jesus, soldiers of the Christ, lift high his royal banner, ye must not suffer loss. From victory unto victory, his army shall he lead, ‘till every foe is vanquished and Christ is Lord indeed.

What do we have that the Lord did not give to us?

All things are thine oh Lord, no gifts have we of ourselves, so therefore oh Lord, with grateful, thankful hearts, and we will give back to you, some of what you have so freely given to us. Oh Lord, how manifold are your works, in wisdom you have made them all! Thank you, Lord!

Are you pleading with the Lord to take away your temptation, hurt, or need from you this morning?

If instead of praying for your situation to be relieved you boast in your situation, know that you will overcome, for the power of God will rest upon you, his grace will be sufficient for you and his strength will be made perfect in your weakness.

For who is a God except the Lord? And who is a rock except our God?

There is none like him, there is no one perfect like our God, there is no one else who is worthy of more praise. The Lord is our rock, our fortress and our deliverer, he is our strength, in whom alone we should trust. The Lord lives, blessed be my Rock, let the God of my salvation be exalted! Praise the Lord!

Will you trust God to lead and guide you?

God is able to do more than we could ever ask or deserve. He is able to chart the course of our future, he will always go before us to lighten our paths, allow him to lead and guide you. Thank you, Lord!

Is your struggle helping or hurting you? Are you still faithful to God in times of struggle?

If your struggle is hurting you, your faith is small. Your struggle should be seen as a faith builder. Learn to be faithful to God no matter what, go through each struggle with a prayer and a praise to God; and for each struggle you overcome, God will lift you higher. Praise the Lord!
