What is it like to experience walking in the light of the Lord, after you have wandered in darkness and sin?

Have you ever stopped eating something and after a while tried to go back to eat it again? Could you recall how it tasted? For me it tasted different, unfamiliar, it was not sweet, and it made me sick. That is the best way I could describe my experience of walking in darkness and sin and walking in the light of the Lord. Every day Lord, I ask you to plant my feet on higher ground, for my heart has no desire to wander again in darkness and sin, my aim, my hope is higher ground. Thank you, Lord!

Will you keep on believing in God’s wonderful mercy and grace, despite whatever you may face?

Lord, increase our faith to believe in you, to trust in your word, that you’re proven and true. Lord, we have reasons to believe, give us more reasons to believe, that you will come again in glory real soon.

Are you still waiting to answer God’s call? He has been knocking for a long time, why won’t you let Him in?

It’s amazing, how easily we answer the knock when sin calls, yet we ignore the knock when God is at the door. The desires of our hearts are set on the wrong things, we should desire the things of God which are lasting and will bring us great reward, for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.

Would you be found wanting when Jesus calls you home?

My brothers and sisters in Christ, let us think about this seriously, for we would not want God to call us home when we are in the midst of evil and strife. Whatever you do and wherever you go, be mindful that Jesus could make his appearance at any time. We are like the watchmen who would not want the master to come and find us asleep. Watch therefore, be vigilant, and be ready for when Jesus calls you home.

Is God not a God of second chances, and is it his will for us to suffer or to be saved?

“The Lord promised that he will come again in great glory and he will gather his elect from the four corners of earth and heaven. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you and toward me, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” No matter what we have done or where we have been, if we humbly confess our sins, God is faithful, and just, and will forgive us for all our unrighteousness.

Will you prepare a home for God in your heart, a home where he may be welcome?

All God require of us is grateful, thankful hearts, hearts that fear him and adore him. I am preparing a place for God in my heart where he may always abide, for if God abides in me and my heart, I will learn to abide in him too. Thank you, Lord, for this season of Advent.

How could you tell if someone has good treasures stored in his heart?

Sinful actions and angry words reveals the evil treasures stored in our hearts. They are fueled by lust, greed, hatred, covetousness, corruptions, malice, envy, all of which dishonors God. Let us not honor God with our lips while our hearts condemns us. No foul language, corrupt communication, words or actions that will hurt others is to come from within us, but only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear. Lord, help us now, to also rid ourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, hatred, greed, lust and filthy language from your lips, so that we may pursue what makes for peace and for building up one another. Praise the Lord!

How often should we lift God up in praise and rejoice in his Holy name?

From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, the Lord’s name should be praised. For he has done marvelous and unsearchable things for us, he gives light to the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart, therefore we are able to rejoice and be glad at the remembrance of his holy name.

What are you most thankful for today?

I am thankful for my faith in God, and for the words that he gives to me each day that will be a blessing to someone else. I am thankful for the ability to lift God up in praise freely, boldly and expectantly. I am thankful for my family, especially my daughter Davika, I am thankful for friends, kind and unkind, I am thankful for steady employment, and I most thankful for the little things that others often take for granted. Lord, when you give us so much, give us also grateful hearts, show us how to give you thanks and praise, show us how to give back some of what you have so freely given to us, and help us to understand that all things come from You oh Lord, and of Your own we should give not only to You but to others; for a blessing shared, is a blessing multiplied. Thank you, Lord!

How do you begin you day?

Begin your day with a song of praise to God, enter into his presence with thanksgiving and show yourselves glad in him with Psalms, for the Lord is great and greatly to be praise. “Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.” James 5:13
