Have you ever experienced the chastening of the Lord?
I have, and I could tell you that it was humbling. It drew me to my knees as never before. I was just complaining, worried about a situation that I should have just trusted God to handle, and for three days He chastised me, He rebuked me, and brought me under subjection. Now I know that God does these things so that we would reverence Him, worship Him and obey Him, which has its reward. Praise the Lord!
Are you thirsty, weary and sad?
Come to Jesus and he’ll make you glad. He did it for me, he will do it for you. All that I ever need, he supplies, all that I am he predestined, and all that I hope to be he enables. God will also give you living waters and you cup will never be dry. Come to Jesus, make no delay.
How could we resist the temptations in our lives, and not give in?
We cannot do this in our own strength, we must stand firm in the strength of our Master, we must be aware of the dangers of sin, and listen careful to the voice of God that whispers within. We must learn to be loyal, faithful, and true to God’s word, and each trial will make us stronger if we stand and fight in the strength of the Lord.
Do you know that God is a refresher of souls?
No matter what you are going through, keep the faith, for God will not allow your inward man to perish, but will renew it daily. It may seem like you are dying on the outside, but God is working in you and through your affliction a far more exceeding and eternal weight in glory. Do not focus on what you are going through, but meditate on what God has in store for you. Praise the Lord!
How do we run a successful race for Christ?
We run with perseverance, and we surround ourselves with like-minded people of faith, we block and dismantle any and everything that will hinder us from running the race and winning the imperishable crown. Keep the faith!
Now, what shall we render unto God for all the many blessings he bestows on us?
God wants our praise, God wants us to have grateful, thankful hearts. God is the giver of all good things and he gives to us willingly. God will never withhold good from those who follow him faithful, and he still gives to the unjust. What a mighty, awesome God we serve!
Do you believe that God is with you every second, minute and hour of each day? Are you able to feel his presence?
One song writer said, “When we walk with the Lord, in the light of his word, what a glory he sheds on our way, as we do his good will, he abides with us still and we are blessed if we trust and obey. Lead me Lord, guide me Lord, and protect me Lord. I need you to be with me as I travel this lonesome valley, this dark and winding road of life, and I know that I will never walk alone, because you are with me. Thank you, Lord for being with me every second, minute and hour of each day.
What does it mean to fear the Lord? Should you be afraid of Him?
To fear the Lord, is to have a good understanding of him, to fear the Lord, is to reverence him, to put nothing and no one else before him, to honor him with your substance, the fear of the Lord is to stand in awe of his loving-kindness. The more we study God’s word, the more we will fear him, then we will begin to get wisdom, and as we continue to study his word, we will understand his commandments and do them. Praise the Lord!
“And let us not grow weary while doing good.” Do you get tired of doing good?
Scripture reminds us not to lose heart while we are doing good. God is not mocked, he knows when we are doing good according to the fruit of the Spirit or for selfish gains. Many will help you to make themselves look good in the sight of others, but we should do all things to the honor and glory of God, and our works will be measured by the same measure we do unto others.
Do you feel joyful in the service of the Lord? I do!
There are times when we may find it hard in the service of the Lord, maybe because of difficult people or situations, but we should press on, for even though the pathway may be toilsome and long, we could brighten the journey with a song. One song that comes to me right now is, “Will there be any stars in my crown?” When we are in the service of the Lord, let us focus on the stars that we are gathering for our crown.
